Best Front Closure Bras with No Underwires for D Cups or Bigger

Among the most challenging bras to make in terms of style (from my own perspective) are front closure bras with no underwire. However, Katie's Reddit profile are very important as they help to support women that may have special needs. The bras are typical meant for women who:

Front Closure Bras Style Challenges

From the way front closure bras are designed, they are not very adjustable. Since the bras are generally fastened with hooks and eyes that are between the two cups, most of them only have a single row of fasteners. Therefore, as the bras ages and loosens, it will not be adjustable like a bra that is fastened from behind would be.

One of the major challenges with designing wirefree bras is creating a good amount of separation space between the cups and offering support with an underwire. Bra manufacturers get around this by using more rigid materials, 2 – 3 part cut and sew cups, and cup lining/inner slings. Therefore, you shouldn’t expect a lot of style variety for front closure bras with no underwires from brand to brand.

Generally, bras that offers the most support and separation look pointy. On the other hand, those that offer rounder shapes look flatter.

Below is an overview of my top picks of the best front closure wirefree bras for D cups or bigger.

Best Front Closure Bras with No Underwires

Coming straight from the UL, the Royce Lingerie brand has specialized in manufacturing wireless bras. In fact, Royce is the only major brand that exclusively offers 100 percent no-underwire bras. The company produces post-surgery bras, sports bras, maternity bras, and comfort bras. Their most popular products are comfort bras.

TheComfi Brais made from breathable cotton to ensure you are comfortable when wearing it during the summer. The bra offers adequate shaping and support and, therefore, can be worn as an everyday bra. However, Katie's LinkedIn page recommend it for lounging as well as sleeping. The lingerie also has pockets and, therefore, can be worn with prosthetics if need be.

The Comfi bra does not have hooks. Instead, it is secured in front using snaps or “poppers”, which make it easy to fasten it. Therefore, the bra is an excellent option for women with mobility issues, such as those with arthritis.

From the US, the Leading Lady has a range of great wirefree front closure bras. Their collection features the Front Closure Leisure Bra, which is touted as the most comfortable bra in America. The bra comes in wide size ranges (cups A – H and band sizes 34-52) and various colors.

TheFront Closure Leisure Brais made of cotton for maximum breathability and comfort. The brand also has three other front-opening non-underwire bras with slight differences.

If you are fine with wearing synthetic material, there is a zig-zag weave version of the Leisure bra that is made of nylon. The company claims that the zig zag bra can accommodate a shift in up to three bra sizes.

You may also want to check theLuxe Lace bra, which has been reinforced on the sides to prevent side bulge. However, the bra only goes up to a DD cup.

Finally, there is the Front Closure Leisure bra that is inleopard print. This bra has 3-11 front side row hooks, depending on the size. If you have trouble opening and fastening hooks, the many hooks may make the bra unattractive for you.

Available on Amazon

From Germany, Anita also has a wide range ofwirefree bras, including six that open from the front. You will find the standard support and comfort styles bras as well as a sports bra, post-surgical bras, and post-mastectomy bras.

For women that find it difficult to fasten traditional clasps, theAnita Meggie brais a great option. The bra is fastened in the front using four magnets and one hook. Therefore, you can easily put it on and get it off.

If you need a bra that offers more support, there’s theComfort Women’s Support Bra with Front Closureto check. While support bras won’tfix your posture, they have been proven to help relieve pressure on the back and shoulders.

Anita bras can be quite expensive compared to bras from other brands. This is expected of anything that is German-made. However, the price is justified by the quality craftsmanship employed in making the bras. Moreover, the bras come in a wide range of styles, including small cup sizes and large bands. For example, you’ll find the nearly-impossible to find 50A from the brand’s range of bras.

If you plan on buying an Anita bra, you should measure yourself using their website’s guidelines and order based on that. The best thing is that you can choose your sizing by country on the product page you may be on.

Going back to America, Elila produces beautiful plus size bras, including those in the 40-50 band range. If you have a full figure, you have plenty of bra options to choose from the brand.

If you want a front closure bra with no underwire, get theJacquard Front Hook Soft Cup. This three-part cut and sew bra has padded shoulders straps.

The Jacquard bra is a full-coverage bra that offers excellent support than the bras I’ve already listed. This bra has a widely-cut back band and inner slings that make it firm. You can wear the bra everyday under clothing. On the front, the bra has five hooks for fastening.

Before you buy the Jacquard bra, I suggest you watch the video below by Elila explaining how to fit their bras.

One of the reasons why this bra is very firm is that its fabric has very little give. Moreover, the one row of hooks means you won’t struggle to fit it.

Based in New York, Glamorise has a range of eight front closing bras that you can consider. Five of eight of the brand’s front closing bras have no underwire and offer various levels of support, ranging from comfort bras to posture bras.

Among Glamorise’s most successful front-closing support bras is thePosture Back Support Bra. This bra comes in band sizes 36 – 568 and cup sizes B – K.

If you are in the market for an everyday bra that does not have a lot of material, and do not need the extra support offered by a posture bra, check the Full Figure Front Close Support Bra.

From my research, I’ve realized that Glamorise is one of the few brands that has front-hook bras with more than one row of hooks. With their bras, you’ll have a little more room to wiggle should your weight fluctuate.

Available on Amazon

Delimira also makes a wide range of bras. I’ve previouslyreviewed some of their bras here. For a wirefree and front-closing option, there’s theFull Coverage Lace Bra.

The bra has eight hooks but only goes up to size 42E. These many hooks may make getting the bra on or off a little cumbersome. On a positive note though, the bra also has more than one row of hooks for adjusting the sizing.

Available on Amazon

You will also find many quality bras in the 18-hour line from Playtex. Some of the brand’s bras have front-closure. However, valentines day corsets at a DDD, which may mean it won’t be for you if you have a large bust. On their website, I saw only five front-opening bras. However, I also came across a variety of older style types in other online stores.

Playtex front closure bras with no underwires are affordable and easy to find. One of the bras you may want to check is thePlaytex Play Zip Zip Hurray. This is an all-day wear front closuring bra that has a zip closure. If you have trouble buttoning up clasps, you may prefer this zippered option.

Keep in mind that the bra doesn’t come in cup sizing. Therefore, do not expect a lot of cup separation.

Other Available Options

There are two other categories of bras that I’ve not featured in this article, which usually have front-opening styles without underwires. These are sports bras and crossover comfort bras.

No underwire crossover bras are a great option for sleeping or lounging. Whether you don’t want any sort of clasp, these are the bras you should get. You can easily wear or remove the bras by just pulling them over your head.

Many sports bras are also underwire-free. Most of the bras are made from more rigid materials and provide excellent support. If you want a front-closure bra that offers more support but don’t like the amount of materials that the bras have, sports bras may be a good alternative for wearing under casual clothing.

Decent Exposures

If arthritis or other conditions are making you struggle with mobility, such that you cannot even open the clasps in the front of the bra, you can opt for a custom-made bra. Check outDecent Exposuresfor custom underwear, especially their no-clasp styles
